On Wednesday, Nebraska signed its top recruit in the 2025 class, 4-star linebacker Dawson Merritt. The 6-foot-3, 215-pounder out of Blue Valley High School in Overland Park, Kansas, chose Nebraska over Alabama, Ole Miss, and Oklahoma, among dozens of other Power Four programs.
Dawson had initially committed to Alabama but switched to Nebraska in mid-November. Even with a few shake-ups in the defensive staff, Dawson has signed and is fully committed to Nebraska.
