4-Star, Larry Miles is officially a Cornhusker. While Miles might be listed as a wide receiver, he belongs under the category of Athlete. Miles is the type of player who you know needs to have the ball in his hands. There is very little he can’t do on the football field. Miles might only be 5’10” and 170 pounds, but that has yet to stop him from being a nightmare for opposing teams.
Larry Miles has experience as a running back, wide receiver, and return man, but has primarily played wideout as he has gotten older. As a junior, he recorded 68 catches for 1204 yards (17.7 ypc) and 10 touchdowns, helping his team reach the Florida 4A title game. During his sophomore and junior seasons, Miles returned five kickoffs and one punt for a touchdown. Overall, Miles is a guy who can burn you from the backfield, running routes, or returning kicks.
While Rhule has gone after guys with NFL measurements, Miles’ freak athleticism is something that just couldn’t be overlooked. Miles has proven that he is a menace in the passing game and brings a physical brand to football where he plays. He has a high-revving motor and is rarely taken down by one defender, often breaking ankles and slipping out of tackles on his way to making an explosive play. Larry Miles will be a name Husker fans will hear a lot of, and hopefully, be the reason they release lots and lots of balloons.
