As Nebraska football headed into the offseason, addressing the offensive line’s vulnerabilities became a pressing concern. With the departure of longtime starter Bryce Benhart, the Huskers faced the prospect of entering the upcoming season with significant gaps in their lineup. Without securing crucial transfers to reinforce the offensive line, Nebraska would struggle to protect the quarterback and open up running lanes, thereby limiting the team’s overall effectiveness. Fortunately, the commitment of Elijah Pritchett, a former Alabama offensive tackle, marks an important first step in stabilizing and strengthening this critical position group. Pritchett, a 6’6 327 pound offensive tackle, officially committed…
As the Huskers left the field in New York city, they left looking fairly dominant against a Boston College team that gave SMU a run for their money late in the season. The standout moment of the Pinstripe Bowl was foreshadowing of the future to come. Raiola’s run and slide on the game’s final drive, drawing a late hit from a Boston College defensive back, gave the Huskers the fuel they needed to close out the game and get the win. As Raiola popped up and got into the face of the would-be defender, you could almost feel the state…
The Huskers are bowling for the first time since 2016 and in their first appearance in almost a decade they will take on Boston College at Yankee Stadium this Saturday at 11am. The Boston College Eagles got off to a great start this year, starting off 4-1 and their only loss came to a current Top 25 ranked Missouri by 6 points. After the Missouri loss BC faltered dropping three of their next five games before a quarterback change and a win over Syracuse (Ranked 21) and a close loss to SMU who would later find their way into the…
Where do the Huskers land realistically in the transfer portal? Nebraska has roughly 10 million dollars that is spent on NIL every year. With 105 athletes on the roster moving forward this is what it would look like to give you an idea of why Nebraska is falling behind. If the top 10 percent of athletes which is about 11 athletes receive 80 percent of the NIL funds we are looking at about $761,900 per athlete. When you take into account that a top tier offensive lineman in the portal or a 5 star out of high school is going…
The first week of December has ushered in significant changes for the Nebraska Cornhuskers, and not all of the changes boasted hope. Over ten players, including key starters like linebacker Mikai Gbayor and defensive lineman Jimari Butler, have declared their intent to transfer. While it’s rare for players to return after entering the transfer portal, Butler’s return two years ago under head coach Matt Rhule is a noteworthy exception. Even more uncommon was running back Emmett Johnson’s decision to stay with Nebraska, announced just three days after he declared his intent to transfer. The transfer portal officially opened on Monday,…
Now that signing day is over Nebraska is sitting with a top 20 recruiting class in the nation and the 6th ranked recruiting class in the Big 10. That doesn’t seem all that impressive until you take a deeper look and realize that these players are all “his type of guys”, a type of player with a very high ceiling with the right development and Rhule is known for development. Making waves once again in the college football recruiting world, head coach Matt Rhule and his staff have managed to secure a group of talented players who are expected to…
Nebraska’s recent loss might not be the end of the world for Husker fans. I mean, no one likes Iowa, not even Iowa likes Iowa. In fact, it could turn out to be a blessing in disguise, especially when it comes to the future of offensive coordinator Dana Holgorsen. Dana Holgorsen has a proven track record as an offensive mastermind. He has served as an offensive coordinator at Texas Tech, Houston, and Oklahoma State, and as a head coach at West Virginia and Houston. His offenses have consistently ranked among the best in the country, known for their innovative schemes…
The Huskers came out of the gates swinging. The Blackshirts defense produced multiple three and outs in a row to kick off the game. Shortly before the half Iowa had just 20 total yards rushing. In the second half all offense for Nebraska died. The offensive line was strong in the first half, the run game was a benefactor of such. Emmett Johnson lead the team in rushing with 18 carries for 71 yards while Dowdell complimented Johnsons’ efforts with 50 yards of his own. The run game had consistent efforts for four quarters, but the same could not be…
The University of Nebraska Cornhuskers are officially bowl eligible. As the fans stormed the field following a 7 year bowl drought. The fans deserved this one. The team deserves this one and Husker Nation deserves this one. The offense scored 44 points, the highest point total this season. Dylan Raiola led the way with 28 completions for 293 yards and a touchdown. The Holgerson experiment seems to be planning out in week 3. Spreading the ball around to 8 different receivers and 5 running backs getting carries. As the game drove on, the running game gained steam with Emmett Johnson…
This weekend, The Cornhuskers and the Badgers, both with 5-5 records, meet in a crucial game to secure bowl eligibility and a winning season. Wisconsin is coming off a tough three-game losing streak against Penn State, Iowa, and Oregon. The Badgers nearly upset No. 1 Oregon but fell short in the final minutes, losing 16-13. With one more win needed for a bowl bid, Wisconsin will give Nebraska everything they have this Saturday inside Memorial Stadium. Nebraska, after a strong 5-1 start, has struggled with four consecutive losses to Indiana, Ohio State, UCLA, and USC. The Cornhuskers are determined to…
