Although Big Ten Media Days is still more than 30 days away, Nebraska announced Wednesday the names of the players that will be accompanying Matt Rhule to Chicago. The three Seniors who will represent the Huskers in the Windy City for the July 30th event are Luke Lindenmeyer, Justin Evans, and Andrew Marshall. Last year the event was held in Las Vegas and Nebraska took four players, Dylan Raiola, Henry Lutovsky, Marques Buford, and DeShon Singleton. Raiola was the only one of the four who was not a senior. Nebraska was able to get 2027 quarterback Trae Taylor to commit in May of 2025, over a year ago. Several teams thought Nebraska settled on Taylor too soon. While Taylor showed promise he hadn’t yet fully developed, especially physically. Other teams showed interest but weren’t willing to go all in on Taylor. Now there isn’t a Top 25 team that wouldn’t jump to sign Taylor. Although Taylor still has his senior year of high school to play, the Huskers couldn’t be happier with their future quarterback. Nebraska picked up their 20th and 21st commitments over the last two days. Will that be the final count? I don’t think so and with the roll the huskers have been on, I don’t see them being finished. Rhule and his staff have been on fire, picking up 11 commitments in the month of June. Sunday it was Brennan Drummond – Safety, 6’0”, 180-pound 3-Star from Charlotte, North Carolina. The University of Nebraska football team revealed new uniforms yesterday after the 7-on-7 championship ‘Battle at the Boneyard’. The Husker faithful is abuzz on social media about the new look, and I’ve heard a little of everything, most of it negative. Change can be hard and messing with your team’s uniforms is one of those hot topics. People across the nation are often baffled by the Nebraska fan base, how passionate they are, how they travel, and how invested they are in the sports teams of the University of Nebraska. Okay, so I blew it when I stated in an earlier article that Jailen Hill wouldn’t announce his commitment until July. Especially since Nebraska received a commitment from Hill Tuesday evening making him the second cornerback and the fourth defensive back taken in the 2027 cycle. He joins fellow CB Bryce Edwards along with safeties Tory Pittman and Corey Hadley. The 6’3”, 160-pound 4-Star is ranked 336 nationally, No. 37 at his position and 29th in the state of California. Over the last three weekends we’ve seen multiple players change their visit schedule by changing dates, canceling a visit or electing to visit at the last minute. Well, the movement continues. Wide receiver Kalil Taylor who was once scheduled for an official visit and then canceled, has rescheduled and will be on campus Friday June 19. Taylor was due to visit Alabama but decided he’d rather visit Nebraska. If Taylor were to commit, he’d be the third highest ranked recruit in this cycle behind Trae Taylor and Tory Pittman. Long time Nebraska assistant coach George Darlington passed away Sunday at the age of 87. He was the longest serving assistant coach in Nebraska football history, working under both Tom Osborne and Frank Solich. Darlington easily falls under the category of icon, as he was widely admired and had significant influence on Nebraska’s football program for over 30 years. Even after he no longer served as an assistant, he was still involved and made an impact on Cornhusker football. Osborne hired Darlington in 1973. He was an assistant with San Jose State at the time.
