Matt Rhule and the Huskers 2026 class took a massive blow on Tuesday night, as ON3 broke the news that CJ Bronaugh decommitted. He had been committed since last November. He is the 7th ranked cornerback in the 2026 class.
Bronaugh was a 4 star DB from Winter Garden, FL. Today he was on an unofficial visit to the University of Florida when he decommitted. He was also at Florida state days ago. He was last on Nebraska’s campus on 6 Jun 25, when he reconfirmed his commitment.
It looks like Bronaugh may be looking to stay closer to home in Florida, given the timing of his decommitment with his visits to the two Florida schools.
With this decommitment, the Huskers now have the 74th ranked recruiting class according to 247Sports, with 5 total commits, all 3 stars. The now highest rated commit is OT Hayden Ainsworth, who committed yesterday.
