A massive recruiting weekend is in store for the Huskers this weekend, with a magnitude of highly touted recruits scheduled to visit Nebraska.
Head coach Matt Rhule and his staff have a big opportunity awaiting themselves this weekend, both in recruiting and on a national stage.
This Friday night, June 6th the Huskers will be hosting the “Battle at the Boneyard” at Memorial Stadium, which will be free to attend and will be sponsored by Adidas, featuring some of the countries most highly recruited prospects.
It will feature a 12 team tournament, with teams from around the country including some of the nations key recruiting hot spots such as Atlanta (GA), Houston (TX), Miami (FL) and Long Beach (CA).
The most notable attendee for Husker fans will be 2027 Nebraska QB commit Trae Taylor, who is visiting this weekend, but will not be participating in the event, is going be a key peer recruiter for Rhule and Nebraska.
The June visit schedule is loaded, with numerous 2026, 2027 and 2028 prospects checking out what Nebraska has to offer.
One of the most key visits for the Huskers this weekend is current Nebraska commit and 2026 4 star CB CJ Bronaugh from Windermere, Florida.
The Huskers found and offered Bronaugh early, before he was ranked and secured a commitment from the young recruit back in late November of 2024.
Bronaugh is being recruited hard by numerous programs who are trying to flip him, LSU and Penn State are among the many, but Billy Napier and the Florida Gators are starting to draw close.
The Gators recently hosted Bronaugh this past week and are committed to keeping the rising star in state.
Another key name to keep an eye on is 4 star offensive tackle Kelvin Obot, who recently included the Huskers in his Top 4 list of schools to go with Michigan, Oregon and Utah.
Michigan and Oregon have a good history of recruiting great offensive lineman and with Obot on pace to climb the rankings, this is a big opportunity for the Huskers to show Obot what Nebraska has to offer.
