After defeating the Creighton Bluejays 6-3 last night in Omaha and extending their winning streak to two games, the Nebraska baseball team is set for a weekend series with the Northwestern Wildcats.
It was a very productive night for the Husker bats, with both Case Sanderson and Joshua Overbeek hitting 2 for 5, but it was Dylan Carey who stole the show.
Carey was 3 for 3, while both driving and scoring two runs in.
Junior closing pitcher Luke Brokerick would toss the final two scoreless innings, picking up his eighth save of the season.
For Northwestern, the Wildcats are riding into Lincoln with a three game losing streak, while most recently getting disrespected by Northern Illinois 27-11 this past Tuesday night.
With a record of 16-18 (7-8) the Wildcats rank 10th in the Big Ten Conference and the Huskers will have to watch out for infielder Trent Liolios.
Liolios is hitting .308 on the season with 15 Home Runs and 34 RBIs with an OPS of 1.151.
The Huskers and Wildcats will start their series Friday night with first pitch set around 6:00 PM, followed by a 2:00 PM start on Saturday.
Nebraska and Northwestern will conclude their three game series on Easter Sunday at 12:00 PM.
