The No. 3 Nebraska softball team etched its name in program history on Saturday afternoon, clinching its first-ever outright Big Ten regular-season championship with a commanding 10-4 road win over Penn State. The Huskers improved to 42-6 overall and a staggering 22-1 in conference play, turning what was already a dominant season into a historic one. This marks Nebraska’s 11th regular-season conference title and its 21st overall conference championship, but the first time the program has claimed the Big Ten crown without sharing it. Head coach Rhonda Revelle, now in her 29th season, became just the sixth coach in Big Ten history to win multiple regular-season titles. She has now captured conference championships in four different decades, including Big 12 crowns in 1998, 2001, and 2004, the shared 2014 Big Ten title, and now this outright 2026 triumph.
Nebraska trailed 4-1 entering the sixth inning but erupted for six runs to seize control for good. Kacie Hoffmann led the charge with two hits and two RBI, while Lauren Camenzind drove in two runs and scored three times. Hannah Coor added two RBI on a double, and both Jesse Farrell and Nessa McMillen contributed doubles.
The Huskers’ sixth-inning rally featured a single from Ava Kuszak, an error that put Emmerson Cope on base, and a fielder’s choice that loaded the bases. Hoffmann’s single scored two, followed by a Jordy Frahm single and Coor’s double that plated two more. A sacrifice fly from H. Camenzind capped the outburst, giving Nebraska a 7-4 lead. The offense wasn’t done. In the seventh, Farrell led off with a double and scored on McMillen’s double. Camenzind then blasted a two-run home run to push the final margin to 10-4.
