Husker legend and 13 year NFL veteran defensive lineman Ndamukong Suh announced his retirement from football earlier this morning.
The star defensive lineman joined the Huskers in 2005 as a four-star recruit and after redshirting in his first season, Suh quickly made a name for himself during four dominant years with the program.
During his time at Nebraska, Suh totaled 215 total tackles, 50 TFL (tackles for loss), 24 sacks and 4 INT, but it was his 2009 season that had NFL scouts mesmerized.
Winning the AP Player of the year, Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year, Nagurski award, Bednarik award, the list goes on and on, Suh was one of the most dominant players to ever come out of Nebraska.
The Detroit Lions selected Suh with the second overall pick in the 2010 NFL draft where he spent five seasons with the Lions, winning Defensive Rookie of the Year in 2010, as well as being selected to the first of his five pro-bowl appearances.
Suh would spend three seasons with both the Miami Dolphins and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and one year with both the Los Angeles Rams and Philadelphia Eagles, racking up 600 total tackles, 130 TFL and 71.5 sacks while being a three-time First Team All-Pro selection.
Congratulations to Ndamukong Suh on a terrific College and NFL career.
