Nebraska’s 2027 recruiting class just got stronger with the addition of 4-star wide receiver Jabari Watkins from Thomasville, Georgia. The 6’2”, 180-pound standout committed to the Cornhuskers just one day after a 3-star wide receiver decommitted from the 2026 class. Watkins, who chose Nebraska over more than 20 offers from programs like Texas A&M, Indiana, Illinois, and Missouri, received his offer from Nebraska in May. His growing connection with the coaching staff sealed the deal, making him the fourth commit in a 2027 class poised to crack the top ten nationally.
Watkins embodies the big-bodied receiver archetype Nebraska is targeting. His physicality allows him to overpower defenders and battle for contested catches. While not a burner, Watkins excels at getting open through precise route-running and leveraging his size to shrug off press coverage. As a raw but high-ceiling prospect, he’s a dynamic addition to the Huskers’ future offense.
