4 Star wide receiver, Tay Ellis, has officially committed to Nebraska. The 6’1”, 185-pound wideout from Texas has been on Nebraska’s radar for a while, and after experiencing this last week’s “Blackout,” he knew there was no other place he wanted to be. Along with his commitment, Tay said multiple things that will surely get Husker Nation fired up such as: “We are about to win. Me and Trae [Taylor] will get a natty together”, and that he wants to go down as the best receiver in Nebraska history.
Ellis has over 2100 yards receiving and a whopping 26 touchdowns in just three seasons of playing at the highest level of Texas high school football. Ellis is also a track and field star. He competed at the Nike Outdoor Nationals and USATF Junior Olympics regionals in June-July 2024, running an 11.17 100 and a 23.42 200, per Athletic.net. Looks like Nebraska finally has its burner for the 2027 class.
