Nebraska added another piece to its 2027 class on Thursday, landing a commitment from three-star interior offensive lineman Kendrayis “KD” Jones of Grayson High School in Loganville, Georgia. Jones announced his decision to join the Cornhuskers, becoming the second Grayson offensive lineman to commit to Nebraska. He follows high school teammate Jordan Agbanoma, who pledged to Nebraska on Wednesday.
The commitments from Jones and Agbanoma were not a coordinated package deal. Instead, each made his own independent choice after building strong individual relationships with Nebraska’s coaching staff. Jones told 247Sports that the move “felt meant to be.”
Jones stands 6-foot-5 and weighs 303 pounds. He is rated as an 88 by 247Sports and ranks among the top interior offensive linemen in the 2027 class. He arrives with nearly 30 scholarship offers, including notable interest from schools such as Auburn, Georgia Tech, Kentucky, and Arkansas. He ultimately chose the Huskers over Georgia Tech, Kentucky, and Arkansas.
Nebraska’s offensive line coach, Geep Wade, and run-game coordinator, Lonnie Teasley, played pivotal roles in securing the commitment. Wade’s prior connection to the Georgia Tech program and the staff’s overall approach resonated strongly with Jones. He specifically praised Wade for loving his players on a different level and going “above and beyond” for them. The combination of these relationships, along with Nebraska’s scheme fit and culture, ultimately won out.
Film of Jones shows an athletic offensive lineman with good instincts, mobility, and the ability to play both tackle and interior positions. He finishes blocks with aggression and brings quick feet, nasty leverage, and natural power. Nebraska sees him as a strong fit at center, where his combination of size, athleticism, and tenacity should translate well to the Big Ten’s physical style of play. His arrival gives Nebraska three offensive line commitments in the 2027 class and provides valuable depth and competition up front as head coach Matt Rhule continues to emphasize rebuilding the trenches. With Jones’ pledge, Nebraska’s 2027 recruiting class now sits among the top 15 nationally, according to recent updates, and includes 10 total commitments.
