Nebraska Adds 3 Star 2027 OL
Nebraska has added to its 2027 class, and this time, it has added some depth to the offensive line. Matt Erickson from Omaha Millard North officially committed yesterday after the Cornhuskers blew out Houston Christian. The 6’8”, 285 lbs Erickson has been on Nebraska’s radar for a while now, and his dad, Mike, played for Nebraska in the early 2000s, so it’s great to see Nebraska not only add another in-state guy but a legacy player as well.
Matt Erickson is a prime example of the old saying, “You can’t teach size”. He has a large frame that could easily accommodate another 30 to 40 pounds, and as a junior in high school, he has plenty of time to gain some mass. Overall, Erickson is a pretty raw prospect in my opinion. He can move pretty well and has good technique for his age, but nothing quite on an elite level. I’m not too worried about that, as he is still very young and once he gets one to two years under his belt with Nebraska’s strength and conditioning, he could really turn into a monster. Erickson is a solid addition to the 2027 class and joins Omaha Central’s Tory Pittman III as the 2nd in-state commit.
