The Nebraska volleyball team continued its spring exhibition schedule with a strong 3-1 victory over in-state rival Creighton on Friday night at D.J. Sokol Arena. A crowd of 2,374 watched the Huskers take the first three sets by scores of 25-19, 25-18, and 25-15 before the Bluejays claimed a bonus fourth set 25-15.
Teraya Sigler led all players with 11 kills on an outstanding .647 hitting clip. Manaia Ogbechie and Kenna Cogill each added six kills, while Andi Jackson, Harper Murray, Jayden Robinson, and Skyler Pierce contributed four kills apiece. In the backcourt, setters Bergen Reilly (20 assists, seven digs) and Campbell Flynn (18 assists, four digs) orchestrated the attack smoothly. Defensively, Laney Choboy and Olivia Mauch paced the Huskers with 10 digs each.
- Set 1 (25-19): Nebraska jumped ahead early with a back-row kill from Sigler and a highlight-reel play by Keri Leimbach. After Creighton tied the score at 9-9, a block by Keoni Williams and Murray, followed by Sigler’s fourth kill, sparked a 3-0 run. The Huskers pulled away late, closing the set on a kill by Williams.
- Set 2 (25-18): Pierce and Ogbechie’s solo block gave NU an early 3-1 edge. Murray extended the lead to 6-2, but Creighton responded with a 5-0 run to take a brief 7-6 advantage. Nebraska regained control after a 12-12 tie, using a Murray-Jackson block and strong play from Virginia Adriano to push ahead 15-12 at the media timeout. Murray’s kill and an Adriano ace helped seal the set.
- Set 3 (25-15): Creighton took an early lead, but kills from Ogbechie, Sigler, and Cogill flipped the momentum to an 8-6 Husker advantage. A Cogill-Sigler block and Sigler’s hustle stretched the lead to 12-7. Ogbechie and Cogill continued to dominate at the net, and Sigler, Cogill, and Robinson closed out the set with strong attacks.
- Set 4 (25-15 Creighton): The Bluejays came out firing, building a 7-1 lead. Nebraska battled back within 11-7 with kills from Gabby DiVita, Ryan Hunter, and Williams, but Creighton pulled away again to take the exhibition finale.
The match served as valuable preseason preparation for both Creighton and Nebraska, who return several key pieces and multiple freshmen for the 2026 season. Nebraska wraps up its spring slate with one final exhibition on Saturday, April 25, when it faces Northern Colorado at the Chicoine Center in Chadron. First serve is scheduled for 1 p.m. CT (Noon MT), with doors opening at 10:30 a.m. MT.
