Nebraska has earned a significant recruiting victory with the commitment of five-star safety Tory Pittman III from Omaha Central High School. Ranked as the No. 16 overall player in the class of 2027, Pittman is the top-rated safety in his class, the highest-ranked recruit in Nebraska for 2027, and the most prominent prospect ever to emerge from the state.
Standing at 6’0” and weighing 185 pounds, Pittman possesses exceptional athleticism, combining elite speed, physicality, and instinctive playmaking ability. His sideline-to-sideline coverage, tackling prowess in open fields, and knack for intercepting passes make him a standout talent. Nebraska identified Pittman’s potential early, extending an offer when he was in eighth grade, and he has remained a top priority for the program.
Pittman has demonstrated versatility and dominance on the field, excelling in 7-on-7 competitions and performing at an elite level during his high school career. Over his freshman and sophomore seasons at Omaha Central, he played both safety and wide receiver, amassing 88 tackles, five interceptions, and 29 receptions for 528 yards and five touchdowns across 18 games. His commitment marks a significant milestone for Nebraska, signaling the addition of a future star to the program.
