Nebraska football secured another key addition to its 2027 recruiting class as three-star defensive lineman Errol Demontagnac has committed to the Cornhuskers during his official visit. The 6-3, 290-pound interior defender from Armwood High School in Seffner, Florida, announced his pledge late Friday.
Demontagnac emerged as one of Florida’s most productive prep defensive linemen during his junior season. He recorded 87 total tackles, 30 tackles for loss, 14 sacks, and three forced fumbles while anchoring the defensive front for Armwood. Rated as a three-star prospect, he has drawn interest from several Power conference programs throughout the recruiting process.
Nebraska beat out offers from schools including Florida State, Illinois, Michigan, Virginia, Stanford, and Purdue. Demontagnac’s commitment came after an unofficial visit to Lincoln earlier in the spring and reflects the program’s ongoing emphasis on bolstering its defensive line depth under head coach Matt Rhule. Demontagnac addresses a clear area of need for the Cornhuskers, who have lacked physical, high-motor defensive linemen capable of disrupting opposing offenses from the interior.
Demontagnac’s production as a junior positions him to gain more and more interest from other P4 schools, especially if he is able to recreate last year’s numbers as a senior. Nebraska will need to recruit him until he can officially put pen to paper. If he stays committed to the Cornhuskers, I feel he could be a day-one contributor in Aurich’s four-man front.
