Nebraska continued to build momentum in the 2027 recruiting cycle with a major addition to their offensive line. Four-star interior offensive lineman Jordan Agbanoma from Grayson High School in Loganville, Georgia, announced his commitment to the Huskers live on ESPN’s The Pat McAfee Show. Agbanoma, listed at 6-foot-3 and 300 pounds, chose Nebraska over a star-studded list of finalists that included SEC powerhouses Georgia, Texas A&M, and Florida, as well as offers from Ohio State, Florida State, Miami, Ole Miss, and Tennessee. The commitment marks a significant win for head coach Matt Rhule and offensive line coaches Geep Wade and Lonnie Teasley, who have leveraged strong connections in Georgia and the Southeast.
Agbanoma is rated as a four-star prospect and a top 100 prospect in the 2027 class. Scouts describe him as a “bully at the point of attack” who fires off the ball with explosive quickness, uses leverage effectively, and possesses long arms that allow him to control defenders. Though he played tackle at the high school level for the powerful Grayson program, he is projected to excel inside at the collegiate level. Agbanoma has already participated in elite all-star games as an underclassman, including the Under Armour All-America Game and the Polynesian Bowl, further highlighting his talent against top competition.
During his announcement, Agbanoma emphasized the personal relationships he built with the Nebraska staff and the program’s vision. “All the coaches are great people,” he said. “I’ve been there twice, I’ve seen the city of Lincoln, I’ve seen how Coach Wade coaches, I’ve seen how Coach Rhule coaches. It’s a great place for me to come in and play early and build my own legacy there.” He also praised the atmosphere, facilities, and fan support: “I love the coaches, the facilities, and the fans. Great atmosphere and resources. I like what coach Rhule is building there.”
Agbanoma becomes the second offensive lineman in Nebraska’s 2027 class, joining in-state offensive tackle Matt Erickson from Millard North. With nine total commitments, the Huskers’ class is gaining traction nationally and now features a high-level building block for the trenches. This commitment also underscores Nebraska’s growing pipeline into Georgia via Geep Wade.
For a program focused on rebuilding its identity through the trenches under Rhule, landing a versatile, powerful interior lineman like Agbanoma is a statement. His combination of size, athleticism, and competitive experience positions him as a potential early contributor who can help anchor the offensive line for years to come.
