Head coach Mark Manning and Nebraska have landed a major transfer portal addition: two-time All-American and 2025 NCAA champion Vincent Robinson. The Chicago native announced his commitment to the Huskers and will join the program with two years of eligibility remaining. Robinson spent two seasons at NC State as a redshirt sophomore, compiling a 45-9 overall record while qualifying for back-to-back NCAA Championships.
In his championship season (2024-25), Robinson went 24-3 with a 9-1 mark in dual competition. He captured the NCAA title at 125 pounds, defeating Oklahoma State’s Troy Spratley in the finals, placed second at the ACC Championships, and notched 11 bonus-point victories.
During the 2025-26 campaign, he posted a 21-6 record (12-3 in duals), earned his second All-American honor with a fourth-place finish at the NCAA Championships, took third at the ACC Championships, and recorded eight bonus-point wins, including three technical falls and five major decisions.
Robinson prepped at Homewood-Flossmoor High School in Illinois, where he was a two-time state runner-up, two-time conference champion, and compiled a 122-18 career record.
For Nebraska, the move brings immediate stability to the 125-pound weight class, which served as a revolving door last season. Redshirt freshman Kael Lauridsen and sophomore Alan Koehler both saw action there, with Koehler entering the transfer portal on April 1. Robinson is expected to step in as the starter right away. This marks Nebraska’s first portal commitment of the offseason and gives the Huskers a proven veteran leader with a national title pedigree as they look to build on their 3rd place finish.
