Ten days ago, I posted NU’s 117-man roster. Well, with Big Ten Media Days going down, Nebraska released its latest roster. There are a few changes but nothing major. One is they have dropped some of the positions groups, instead of cornerbacks and safeties, everyone is now listed as a defensive back. It’s the same with edge rushers and defensive linemen. Now everybody is a defensive lineman.
From a personnel standpoint, WR Conner Schutt is no longer listed, and WR Jeremiah Jones has also moved to a new position – defensive lineman. Because of Jones’s athletic ability, he played all over the field in high school. When he came to Nebraska it was discussed whether he would be a wide receiver, safety, or a linebacker. He went to receiver and has been there ever since. However, because of his size (6’4”, 230) and speed he played rush end on scout team defense. Due to how well he performed he has made the move to defensive line. If he settles in there look for him to put some additional weight on.
As far as additional weight is concerned, that would be one other change. More than half the players on the roster increased their weight from five to fifteen pounds. I wish I had totaled it now.
And the last change, everybody has been assigned a number. On my last roster there were seven players who didn’t have a jersey number on the Husker website roster.
From an injury standpoint, only linebacker Jacob Bauer will be out due to a knee injury in the spring.
There are now 16 wide receivers, 20 offensive linemen, 6 tight ends, 6 running backs, 21 defensive backs, 14 linebackers, and 22 defensive linemen.

GO BIG RED!! SIMPLE, FAST, VIOLENT!!
