Missouri transfer edge Williams Nwaneri is ‘N’ according to On3. Nwaneri was a five-star plus prospect in the 2024 recruiting class, being the No. 1 overall ranked edge.
Nebraska just hit a home run. Nwaneri comes in at six-foot-six, 265 pounds. The losses of Jimari Butler, James Williams and Princewill Umanmielen hurt, but Nebraska just made a splash in reloading.
Give head coach Matt Rhule, defensive coordinator John Butler, analyst Jamar Mozee and the rest of the coaching staff credit. Mozee was Nwaneri’s high school coach. It’s all about connections.
The potential is as high as it gets with Nwaneri. He will have four years of eligibility since he maintained his redshirt at Mizzou. Rhule and the rest of the Husker staff are just getting started. Anticipate big-name players to be coming. With the 105-roster limit incoming, they will be extremely selective in who they choose.
The Nebraska defensive line is in much better shape than a week ago. They retained freshman defensive lineman Keona Davis and should keep sophomore d-linemen Riley Van Poppel and Cam Lenhardt. Nwaneri with these three should be a force to be reckoned with in 2025.
