A pair of Husker football players heard their names in the NFL Draft over the weekend.
Defensive Tackle Ty Robinson and Tight End Thomas Fidone were both selected during rounds 4-7 on the final day of the NFL Draft on Saturday.
Robinson was taken with the 111th pick in the fourth round by the defending Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles.
Robinson meshes well with the Eagles current defensive gameplan, it also reunites him with his former Husker teammate Cam Jurgens, who was a second round selection in 2022.
During his five seasons at Nebraska, Robinson was a dominant force inside and produced a breakout 2024 season, finishing with seven sacks and one forced fumble.
For Fidone, the New York Giants used their first of two seventh round picks to select the Tight End at pick 219.
Fidone will get the chance to work with first round pick, quarterback Jaxson Dart.
During Fidones time at Nebraska, he caught 61 passes for 633 yards and four touchdowns and would’ve been a lot more if his first two seasons weren’t taken away by injuries.
Fidone is an excellent route runner, especially with his 6’6” frame.
Undrafted Free Agents:
Robinson and Fidone were the only Huskers to get drafted, but multiple Huskers have and are still signing contracts as Undrafted Free Agents.
