It has been a heavy news filled week around the Nebraska Football program ever since it started.
On Monday, it was announced that defensive coordinator Tony White would be leaving to take the same position at Florida State, and just today, we learned that defensive line coach Terrance Knighton would be joining him.
With multiple players on the defensive side opting to enter the portal following the decisions of White and Knighton, the night would take a positive turn.
The Huskers announced that Dana Holgorsen was signing a two year contract to remain as offensive coordinator.
In addition to bringing Holgorsen back, the Huskers would officially hire their new wide receivers coach in Daikiel Shorts, who previously played and worked under Holgorsen, while coaching wide receivers at Kentucky in 2024.

Early Signing Day Recap:
Many key recruits were expected to sign with the Huskers on Wednesday, and Husker fans should be excited with the result, as Matt Rhule and the Huskers officially signed 8 four star recruits.
Not a single one of the Huskers commits in the current class decommitted or did not sign, which is a huge plus for a program that lost two of their top assistant coaches.
There was a late push by Missouri to flip athlete Jeremiah Jones, but the Huskers held on, securing Jones as he signed in the late afternoon.
Huskers flip Cortez Mills:
Early on the morning of Early National Signing Day, the Huskers pulled a big time flip with the big play, 6 foot wide receiver from Homestead Florida, Cortez Mills.
Mills, who ranks as the 137th ranked recruit in the country according to On3, is the Huskers second highest ranked recruit in the class, and gives the Huskers big play potential immediately alongside Jacory Barney Jr.
Huskers Miss out on Michael Terry III:
It was believed by many for weeks that it was down to Texas and Nebraska for the Five star, No. 1 ranked athlete in the country, Michael Terry III, who signed to the Texas Longhorns this morning.
Throughout the recruitment of Terry, it was said numerous times that if there was a school that would get him to leave the state of Texas, it would be Nebraska, which might be part of the reason why Terry delayed his commitment until this early national signing day period.
