Brennan Drummond: Productive and Athletic Safety
Brennan Drummond, a 6-0, 185-pound safety, committed to Nebraska on June 21, 2026. The three-star prospect hails from North Oconee High School in Bogart, Georgia, with previous experience at Providence Day School in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Drummond brings strong production and athleticism to the secondary. In the 2024 season, he recorded 97 tackles, four tackles for loss, two sacks, four pass breakups, and one fumble recovery. Over two years of tracked stats, he has amassed 193 total tackles. Scouts highlight his tremendous athleticism, instincts, and potential to fit well in defensive coordinator Rob Aurich’s scheme, projecting him as a high-upside contributor who could play multiple roles in the defensive backfield.
He chose the Huskers over offers from programs including Florida, Wake Forest, Virginia Tech, Arkansas, Vanderbilt, and Syracuse. His commitment marked another strong addition to Nebraska’s defensive class, which has emphasized blue-chip talent in the secondary.
Barrett Kittrell: Local Legacy Offensive Lineman Staying Home
Barrett Kittrell, a 6-4, 270-pound offensive lineman from Ashland-Greenwood High School in Nebraska, committed to Nebraska around June 22, 2026. The three-star prospect becomes the 21st commitment in the Huskers’ 2027 class.
Kittrell is a true local product and legacy commit. He is the son of former Nebraska fullback Barry Kittrell and the brother of former Cornhusker Bo Kitrell. He selected the Huskers over offers from Iowa, Kansas State, and others after taking official visits, including one to Nebraska. As a big-bodied lineman with local ties, he is expected to add depth and competition along the offensive line while representing the program’s strong in-state recruiting presence. Geep Wade loves tough and nasty O-linemen, and that’s exactly what Nebraska is getting in Kittrell.
Together, Drummond’s playmaking ability in the secondary and Kittrell’s size and legacy status on the offensive line give Nebraska valuable additions across the trenches and defensive backfield. These picks come amid a flurry of June activity, helping the 2027 class maintain a strong national ranking while addressing specific positional and depth needs.
