With the UCLA game this Saturday firmly on people’s mind, a huge recruiting weekend should not pass unnoticed. To start with, Florida State has bought a season pass to ride on the struggle bus. Their recent stint of not being successful, or anything that could be mistaken for successful, has opened the door for Nebraska to possibly flip the 4-star tight end from Millard South formerly committed to the Seminols, Chase Loftin. Loftin will visit Lincoln during the UCLA game as Florida State tries to defeat North Carolina this Saturday to stop them from going 1-8. Steve Wiltfong of On3 has suggested that Loftin’s visit to Nebraska could result in an immediate flip and commitment to the Huskers. This could be a huge get for the Cornhuskers, but Loftin is not the only big name the Huskers will be targeting or have on campus this week for the UCLA game.
Nebraska is gearing up for a significant recruiting weekend as the Huskers return to Lincoln to face UCLA. Under head coach Matt Rhule, Nebraska continues its strategy of targeting blue-chip prospects from the Southeast, particularly from Mississippi, the home state of current Husker starting running back Donte Dowdell. While covering the state of Mississippi the coaching staff is targeting defensive line prospect Nolan Wilson, a four star in the 2026 recruiting class. As well as Mitchell Smith, a 6’5 300lb offensive tackle. Originally from Mississippi, Smith now plays at national powerhouse IMG Academy. A four star recruit that has offers from his two home state schools Ole Miss and Mississippi State. The Huskers will also be spending time going after four star and potential five star running back in the 2027 class, Tyson Robinson. Robinson already has offers from Arkansas, Ohio State, Auburn, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, and Oregon among others. The way that Robinson is playing he could easily end up as the top running back of the 2027 recruiting class.
Paired with a recruiting blitz on the state of Mississippi, Nebraska will be hosting some extreme talent this Saturday for the UCLA Game including four recruits gaining a four star ranking and four three star recruits. These recruits include:
Four Stars:
Bryce Perry-Wright, 6’2 240lb Defensive Lineman from Buford Georgia (Dylan Raiola’s School)
Roman Voss, 6’4 210lb Athlete from Minnesota
Kaden Snyder, 6’5 255lb Offensive Lineman from Kansas
Keenan Harris, 6’1 200lb Safety from Missouri
Three Stars:
Colsen Gatten, 6’ 200lb LB from Pennsylvania
Dveyoun Witte, 6’2 190lb Reciever from South Dakota
Dayton Raiola, 6’1 205lb Quarterback from Buford Georgia
The Huskers are looking for a strong performance against the boys from California on Saturday not only to become bowl eligible but also to improve their chances with some of the top recruits in the country.
