Happy Sunday, Husker fans. Another big week on the diamond, especially for softball. Baseball wrapped up its postseason run, and football recruiting picked up some good news on the offensive line. Here’s what stood out over the last seven days.
Softball punches ticket to WCWS
Rhonda Revelle’s team just delivered one of those weekends you remember for a long time. After taking care of business in the regional, the Huskers hosted Oklahoma State in the Super Regional at Bowlin Stadium and swept them — 8-1 in Game 1 and a 9-1 run-rule win in Game 2 on Saturday. Jesse Farrell had a huge series with five RBIs and a homer, and the pitching staff, led by Jordy Frahm, kept things locked down. First trip back to the Women’s College World Series since 2013.
Baseball falls in Big Ten Tournament semis
Will Bolt’s guys went into the tournament as the No. 2 seed and picked up a solid 6-4 win over Michigan on Friday at Charles Schwab Field in Omaha. But they ran into a tough Oregon squad the next day and dropped the semifinal 8-0. Still, a strong finish to the year overall with that program-record Big Ten winning percentage. Plenty of good things to come as Nebraska is still in a strong position to host a regional.
Football lands two offensive line commits
Nebraska picked up a pair of offensive line pledges for the 2027 class this week. Four-star interior lineman Jordan Agbanoma from Georgia committed first, then his high school teammate KD Jones followed right behind him. That’s a nice early boost up front for Geep Wade and the staff as they keep building depth in the trenches.
