In January I put together a list of Nebraska’s 2026 recruiting targets, but with June almost here and recruits scheduling visits, that list has changed drastically. Ten players that were on that January list have committed to other schools, causing Nebraska to reorganize their recruiting board.
But there is one thing Nebraska fans need to remember, and I’ve mentioned this before, Nebraska does an excellent job of staying in touch with recruits and never burning bridges. The Huskers often find opportunities to recruit players a second time.

There is currently a dozen players Nebraska has recruited over the last year or longer that currently do not have scheduled visits. Again, the Huskers haven’t given up on this group and continue to try to get them in for official visits. Recruits taking visits to Nebraska in the month of June
Even with the changes in Nebraska’s targets, there are currently 25 to 30 players scheduled to visit in June. Of those players, 3 are currently committed to the Huskers, and another 5 are committed to other schools. All 5 of those commits are visiting other schools besides Nebraska, posing the question of how locked-in they are. Because of that, players who have already committed don’t drop off Nebraska’s radar, they will continue to recruit those players and flip them if possible. Nebraska’s greatest weapon for flipping some of those players would be to start winning. They need to start the 2025 season strong and put up 9 to10 wins. Nebraska can match almost anyone in academics, facilities, coaching, support staff, and NIL. What’s holding them back is the consistency to win. Players want to be part of a winning program, a fast start to the 2025 season could be the difference.

Nebraska biggest struggle with their recruiting board thus far has been at tight end and defensive line. Of the top four tight end targets, Lincoln Watkins and Luke Sorenson are the only ones making visits. Sorenson is leaning hard towards Penn State and Watkins is being heavily pursued by Florida.
As for defensive lineman, only Edge – Zavion Griffin-Haynes and DL – Kamron Wilson are scheduled for visits, and Wilson is already committed to Syracuse. Top target Titan Davis cancelled his June visit and scheduled USC instead. DE – Jamarion Carlton isn’t scheduled to visit, and Nebraska is still trying to convince Valdin Sone and Jerimy Finch to set a date to visit. The recruiting board is thin at defensive line and the staff is working hard to catch up. But it’s imperative they fill the defensive line spots. Transfer portal defensive lineman can be expensive and difficult to come by.
As of now, Nebraska isn’t expected to take but 12 to 15 players in the 2026 cycle. But if there is another position the Huskers can’t miss on it’s the offensive line. They need to take at least two. However, you can be assured Nebraska won’t take bodies just to fill holes, they will be selective. With eight O-linemen visiting they should be able to pick up top tier talent.
Other players the Huskers need to prioritize are, S – CJ Bronaugh, LB-Jordan Campbell, LB-Jakore Smith, WR-Jayden Warren, WR-Ryan Mosely, RB-Zephan Walker, TE’s-Watkins, and Sorenson. There is work to be done by this Nebraska staff.
