Nebraska showcased why they’re undefeated on Sunday, sweeping Oregon 25-21, 25-20, 25-12 at John Cook Arena in the Bob Devaney Sports Center. The victory, witnessed by a crowd of 8,495 fans, propelled the Huskers to a perfect 22-0 overall record and 12-0 in Big Ten play.
Nebraska’s offensive efficiency was on full display, as the team hit .405 for the match while limiting Oregon to a .162 clip. The Huskers beat out their opponents in kills (39-35), dominated at the net with a 9-3 block advantage, and held a slight 32-28 lead in digs.
Standout performances fueled the sweep. Taylor Landfair led with 10 kills on .400 hitting, while Harper Murray contributed 9 kills (.391) and matched that total in digs for a well-rounded effort. Virginia Adriano shone with 8 kills at a flawless .500 efficiency and added 3 blocks. Rebekah Allick notched a double-double threat with 5 kills and 5 blocks, and Andi Jackson tallied 5 kills alongside 3 blocks. Setter Bergen Reilly orchestrated the attack with 26 assists and 5 digs, supported by Laney Choboy (6 assists, 5 digs) and Olivia Mauch (3 assists, 5 digs). Defensively, Teraya Sigler anchored with 5 digs.
The first set saw Oregon jump to an early 3-1 lead, but Nebraska responded with an 8-1 surge to take a 9-5 advantage. After a 10-10 tie, a flurry of kills from Allick, Murray, Landfair, and Adriano, built a 20-18 cushion. Murray’s kill and a joint block set up match point, which Jackson converted for a 25-21 win.
Set two remained tight, with Oregon holding a 12-11 edge before Jackson’s kill and Murray’s ace flipped the script to 14-12. The Ducks clawed back to 17-16, but Nebraska unleashed a 5-0 run—featuring kills and blocks from Allick and Adriano, plus strong serving from Sigler—to forge a 21-17 lead. Murray’s back-to-back kills pushed to set point at 24-19, securing the frame 25-20.
Nebraska left no doubt in the third set, racing to a 5-1 lead behind Adriano’s two quick kills and Mauch’s ace. Landfair and Allick extended it to 9-4, and Reilly’s serving sparked a five-point run to 23-11. Adriano and Allick closed it out with kills, capping a .500 hitting performance against Oregon’s .037 in a lopsided 25-12 triumph. Nebraska has now won 40 consecutive sets and 13 straight sweeps. The Huskers return to action Thursday at 7 p.m., hosting Illinois in Lincoln.
