Per sources, the Huskers are set to land two huge commitments from two of the nation’s top prospects in the class of 2025 over the next month continuing Rhule and companies dominance in this recruiting cycle. Already landing the blue chip standout running back in Jamarion Parker, and in-state linebacker Pierce Mooberry (possibly the coolest name on the roster) just this past week, Nebraska rolls on. But Rhule’s diamond in the rough mentality shines through on this little known German prospect.

Not a lot of Husker nation knows of David Hoffken, the 6’7 German talent that received an offer and committed to Nebraska just a few days ago. He is raw, has little experience and very and i mean very underweight. But through interviews and watching his film from camp two things stand out. Hoffken has a great love for the game and is not lacking a motor. Hoffken was reportedly overcome with emotions when offered by the Cornhuskers, showing his true passion for the sport. Making an appearance at both the Belton, Texas and Houston camps Hoffken left an impression on the coaching staff.

The 22 year old from Kiel, Germany is truly a feel good story as Hoffken was at camp as a part of the Gridiron Imports, an organization that creates opportunities for international players to live out their dreams playing football in the United States. The disbelief that Hoffken showed when offered the chance to play at Nebraska is bound to bring a smile to your face. He replied “Thats crazy… I can’t believe it, Yes” when asked by Husker coach Terrance Knighton if he would like to be a Cornhusker.

While Hoffken is raw, his stature and athletic ability is something that is sure to turn heads. With a 9 foot 4 inch broad jump and seemingly quick feet if the strength and conditioning staff can fill out his frame Hoffken could be a starting talent at Nebraska before he graduates. While watching drills and film from the camps in Texas, one thing stood out to me the most. His effort. While he hasn’t been groomed to run a 20 yard shuttle, or dominate the 3 cone drill from an early age Hoffken gave every attempt 100% effort. It is looking like he will become an offensive lineman in the upcoming years, and on the offensive line finishing plays is what separates talent. Hoffken possesses this ability. The constant want to do better and understanding of this opportunity is something I know Hoffken fully grasps and I cannot wait to watch him grow at Nebraska. I am rooting for this young man, as i’m sure you all are as well. Representing what Nebraska means in a passion for the game and consistent work ethic, Carriker Chronicles nation lets welcome David Hoffken to the Cornhuskers.
